This show wants to celebrate work investigating artists’ feelings and emotions as well as work provoking feelings and emotions in the viewer. Visceral meaning and effect in art is the exploration of raw feeling and emotion. This is in conflict with, and the opposite of, intellect which displays rationality, objectivity, and knowing. Much of the art we see today fits within one these two categories.

dodomu is a contemporary online gallery with a team based in Brooklyn, NY. We focus on showcasing emerging artists through online group exhibitions and represent a variety of media such as painting, photography, sculpture, digital and mixed media with emphasis on abstraction. While currently all of our operations are virtual, our long-term goal is to open a physical space in the future as we continue to grow. Open to all artists 18 years and older. All visual art media will be considered.

Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to submit their work for consideration in our online group exhibition put together by our Guest Juror, Junni Chen. The Fall 2022 Residency Term Application is now open, with a deadline of March 1, 2022, at 11:59 PM. All applications are submitted through www.plyspace.org/application-guidelines/ PlySpace is an artist-in-residence program in Muncie, Indiana, that is dedicated to offering visual artists, writers, performers, designers, and other creative individuals time and space to investigate and pursue their own practices. The application fee is $15 until Feb 25.

Artist Grant invites international visual artists aged 18+ to apply for a $500 grant during our current grant cycle. Second and 3rd place runners-up receive $100 each. Artists working in any of the following media may apply painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed/multiple media, installation, or other new or alternative media. We regret that we do not accept submissions for music, theatre, dance, or film/video.
